I’m not sure why but when the air gets a little crisp I feel like baking, and it just gets worse as the temperature continues to drop. This past week I made a few yummy things. I made some Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookies for a neighborhood block party as well as some Personal Sized Baked Oatmeal Muffins and Healthy Zucchini Muffins. The cookies turned out good, though the next time I will make them smaller. They ran into each other when I baked them. The two muffins were for Owen. I decided to get blueberries for the oatmeal muffins and freeze them for Owen’s breakfast or a snack. I wanted to start giving him something warm in the morning as the temperature dips. The zucchini muffins (also frozen) were a little more labor intensive because I had to grate the zucchini – though after that everything else was simple.
On Sunday we ventured to the zoo to see the decorations and finally find the Polar Bear play place. It was a perfect Fall day for the zoo. Our first stop (as always) was the petting zoo. For the first time Owen noticed that they have brushes that he could use to brush the goats. He loved using them, but used them to poke rather than brush the animals. We’ll have to work on that. Then we found the Polar Bear play place, and Owen loved it. He climbed up stairs and went down some slides. I think this will be in our regular rotation when we visit again.
